Tarxien defeat Hamrun to end negative run

Tarxien remain in fifth place as Hamrun remain at the bottom of the Championship Pool.

Tarxien took the lead on the ninth minute. Off a corner by Gianluca Calabretta, Danier Mariano Bueno’s controversial header put Tarxien ahead. The ball seemed to be cleared by Lee James Agius, but assistant referee Malcolm Mercieca signaled the ball crossed the line.

Tarxien doubled the score on the 14^th  minute. Goalkeeper Omar Borg had no chance stopping Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira’s powerful shot.

Just one minute later, Hamrun were back in the match after Dene Shields shot beat Tarxien goalkeeper David Cassar.

Tarxien made it 3-1 on the 27^th  minute. Ricardo Costa headed the ball in after receiving a perfect cross from Gianluca Calabretta.

The match was put out of reach for Hamrun just two minutes into the second half after Tarxien made it 4-1. Daniel Mariano Bueno served Ricardo Costa who made no mistake beating the Hamrun goalkeeper.
