Tarxien Rainbows defeat Marsaxlokk in six goal thriller

Just ten minutes into the match, Tarxien took an early lead after they were awarded a penalty shot. Malcolm Licari handled the ball inside the area to have referee Kevin Azzopardi point to the penalty spot. Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira converted to give Tarxein the early lead.

On the 20^th  minute Tarxien doubled the score when Julian Vella served Daniel Mariano Bueno a perfect cross to have the latter beat goalkeeper Reuben Gauci.

On the 28^th  minute, Tarxein had a three goal lead thanks to Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira.

Bueno served Cristiano Dos Santos Rodrigues who then beat goalkeeper Reuben Gauci when he lobbed the ball into the net to make it 4-0.

Marsaxlokk scored late into the second half to reduce the goal deficit. On the 80^th  minute, Julio Alcorse scored after he dribbled past a defender and beat goalkeeper David Cassar.

Julio Alcorse made reduced Tarxien’s lead to two goals one minute from time when he was on target thanks to his rising shot from inside the area.

The final score was 4-2 in Tarxien’s favour.
