Champions Valletta and Birkirkara share the points

Valletta and Birkirkara played to a 1-1 draw yesterday evening.

The result gives hope to Birkirkara to securing second place in the standings and a UEFA Europa League spot.

Birkirkara are now only four points behind second placed Floriana with two matches still left to play.

Valletta remain unbeaten this season with this result.

The first half of the match was very quiet with both teams not taking any chances.

The first goal of the match arrived late in the second half.

Valletta’s Terrence Scerri dribbled past the Birkirkara defence to conclude by shooting low past goalkeeper Manual Bartolo on the 79th  minute.

Valletta then were reduced to ten-men after Steve Borg was sent off by referee Alan Mario Sant.

On the 90nd  minute, Birkirkara denied Valletta any chance of Victory after Ibrahim Babatunde’s pass found Rodolfo Kumbrevicius who then concluded by beating goalkeeper Andrew Hogg with his shot from inside the area.
