Manchester United defeat Schalke to edge closer to final

Schalke who were still full of confidence after thrashing World and European champions Inter could not keep up with the quick and perfect passing Manchester United side.

In a two-minute spell in the second half, it all went wrong for Schalke as Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney scored the two very important away goals.

Schalke now have the almost impossible task to defeat United by three goals in their next meeting at Old Trafford.

Schalke were very lucky to end the match just two goals down as United wasted 13 goal scoring opportunities.
