This was a tricky match for United as they also have a potential title decider this Sunday against Chelsea.
Manchester United had to play with a slightly different team to save their players energy for the big clash on Sunday. Going into the match with a two goal advantage gave the Red Devils some piece of mind.
Goals from Antonio Valencia, Darron Gibson and a double from Anderson sealed the affair for United. A consolation goal from Schalke was scored by Jose Jurado.
United now will face Barcelona in the Champions League final which will be a repeat of the final of 2009 were Manchester were defeated 2-0 by the Spanish giants. Goals from Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi sealed the win for Barcelona.
