Smashing win for Kolgjini at Jagersro

Home track favorite Lutfi Kolgjini had a fantastic evening at Jagersro’s V75-special, where he won the prestigious Hugo Aberg Memorial-race with Lavec Kronos.

More than 16.000 people showed up at Jagersro to witness the V75-special and the popular home track figure Lutfi Kolgjini. The main event of the evening was of course the Hugo Aberg Memorial-race, where Kolgjini had Lavec Kronos facing fantastic horses like Torvald Palema, Beanie M.M. and Brioni.

Kolgjini didn’t let the home crowd to disappointment. Lavec Kronos past the wire victoriously, after a tough battle against Torvald Palema, leaving the crowd wild of joy.

“I have been here at Jagersro since I was fifteen years old. For me there is nothing bigger than winning this race. This is my home track and the crowd is fantastic. Elitloppet is big, but this is bigger, Kolgjini said after the race.

Kolgjini drove his horse resolutely and offensively all the way, stealing the lead from Copper Beach out of the first turn. The pre-favorite, Torvald Palema, had problems with the positions at the start, but sprinted impressively towards the wire in the hunt for Lavec Kronos. Torvald Palema failed. Lavec Kronos prevailed.
“I have faced Torvald many times before and I felt the wind of him swishing at the homestretch. I was afraid that the worst would occur, but my horse was fantastic”.

The winning time was 1.09,9 at the distance of 1609 meters, car start. The first price was 100.000 EUR. This was Lutfi Kolgjini's second time winning the Hugo Aberg Memorial. The previous win was in 2003 with Revenue.
