BOV it-Tazza l-Kbira – Semi Finals
The semi-final phase of the BOV it-Tazza l-Kbira 2014 will be held on Sunday 13th April 2014 with 29 horses competing in 3 races that will determine the 12 finalists competing for the Tazza l-Kbira on 27th April.
5 heats were held on 30th and 31st March from which 30 horses qualified for the semi finals. One of the owners opted not to race his horse and did not put him in the draws on Monday thus one of the semi finals has one horse less.
The 29 participants are made up of 13 French, 12 Swedish, 2 German and one each Italian and Danish. Four of these are mares and another four where making their debut race on the island during this competition.
The three semi finals will be the highlight of the programme due to the high level of the competitors and these will be the 4th, 6th and 8th race of the programme being held on Sunday 13th April 20014 at the Marsa Race Track, the races starting at 15:00, 15:50 and 16:40.
At the moment, the Malta Racing Club is making last minute preparations so that everyone celebrates in style the 80th Anniversary of this prestigious trophy.
The draws for the final will be transmitted live through the TV programme ‘Sal Gister’ on ONE TV on Wednsesday 16th April 2014 in the presence of Malta Racing Club President Dr Matthew Brincat, BOV CEO Charles Borg and the owners and drivers that will make it through to the final.
