Sauber driver Perez to race in Canada

Sergio Perez has been officially cleared to race in Canada this weekend.

The Mexican driver passed a medical test at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve after his high-speed accident on the streets of Monte Carlo a fortnight ago.

The Sauber driver crashed heavily at the Nouvelle Chicane during the final stage of qualifying in the Principality, leading to a bruised thigh and mild concussion. He was then kept for two days at the Princess Grace Hospital as a precaution, later being released with no long-lasting injuries.

Pérez will climb back into his cockpit for the first time since the incident when Free Practice 1 begins tomorrow morning, joining team-mate Kamui Kobayashi who has scored points in every race he has finished so far this season.
