Button excited about his 200th Grand Prix
This weekend sees Jenson Button taking part in his 200th Grand Prix at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Button’s first race in Formula One was for Williams at the Australian Grand Prix. His first victory was for Honda Racing at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2006.
“I can’t believe I’ve already knocked up a double-ton of F1 starts because I don’t feel a day older than when I made my debut back in 2000!” says the McLaren driver.
“After a premature end to my race at the Nürburgring, I’ll be hoping for better luck at the Hungaroring. The MP4-26 was very competitive in Monaco a couple of months ago and I hope it will be a similar situation this weekend because the Hungaroring has many of the same performance criteria.”
The Hungarian Grand Prix has not been the most successful track for Button in recent years. Since 2007 he has had a retirement, 12th, 7th and 8th place finish. Button hopes he can get a much better placing this weekend in his McLaren.
This weekend also sees Nico Rosberg reaching his century of race starts.
Jenson Button stats:
10 Grand Prix victories
