Schumacher plans to continue racing in 2012

The Mercedes GP driver has been questioned over his commitment following a difficult phase of races, but he is adamant that he will be embarking upon his 22nd campaign in the sport.

"I'll certainly be racing next year, that is definite," Schumacher explained during a Mercedes-Benz event in Stuttgart. "We will have to see how things develop and how much energy and fun is still there."

When discussing the team’s chances next season, Schumacher said the title is too big a target with their current position in the Formula 1 pecking order.

"It would be presumptuous if one expects us to fight for the title next year," he added, "at the moment we are too far behind."
