Sauber launches corporate One Club

As per the cars' engine covers in Montreal last weekend, Sauber has launched the 'Sauber One Club' scheme which will allow business clients to rent out facilities at the team's Hinwil factory in Switzerland.

Set up by Team Principal Peter Sauber, the exclusive One Club will allow companies which wish to hold conferences with a Formula 1 backdrop to make use of rooms in the squad's base plus the use of high-tech equipment.

"Formula 1 as a marketing platform has changed over recent years," said Sauber, who himself returned as Team Principal this year following the departure of previous owner BMW at the end of 2009.

"Formerly, its global reach was primarily used to raise the profile of consumer goods. Today it also serves as a vehicle for business deals and networking.

"Early this year I commissioned Publicis, one of the world's leading advertising agencies, with devising a suitable concept; that is now in place and the discussions we have had with businesses so far have been very positive.

"I am in no doubt that, through this club, we are serving a steadily growing need."
