FIA doing good job - Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton has given the FIA his vote of confidence and has said he believes the sport’s governing body is doing a good job despite the controversy in Australia two weeks ago, which saw Daniel Ricciardo stripped of second place.
Ricciardo lost the position due to fuel-flow irregularities and with Red Bull lodging an appeal - and Team Principal Christian Horner adamant his team has done nothing wrong - it means the result will now remain provisional until April 14, when the FIA’s International Court of Appeal convenes to adjudicate on the matter.
“I'm really happy with the job the FIA have done over the past few years,” Hamilton told Sky Sports News. “I've not really read too much into it [the Red Bull case], but I know how technical it is this year and how difficult it is.
“We're constantly given updates on things that we've got to stay strict to and fortunately my team did a great job and we obviously haven't had any problems. But I think it's just a learning process so over the course of the year everyone's going to be learning and making mistakes and working on those things.”
“It [the new fuel limits] is a huge player this year,” he added.
"We've got to do the same race distance that we've done in the past few years with a third less fuel. So it a real massive challenge.”
