Marsa Colts make it four in a row

On Saturday the Chairman’s team played against the Captain’s team in the fourth game of the series.

The Captain’s team batted first and had a fantastic start set up by Nowell Khosla and Joy Ghoseroy. The partnership was worth fifty runs with Khosla making the most of the bowling scoring thirty five runs before being caught and bowled by Michael Grima. He hit four boundaries in his innings.

Ghoseroy followed a couple of overs later ending with eighteen runs. After such a wonderful platform one would have expected a huge score. How wrong, they were bowled out for ninety nine runs in the eighteenth over. Nadia Gosney remained not out with two runs. For the Chairman’s team Bikram Arora and Andy Naudi both took three wickets each,  while Malcolm Crabbe, Michael Grima and Richard Rogers all took a wicket.

The Captain’s team made up for their batting blunder by keeping the Chairman’s team to the last over before losing. Malcolm Crabbe who opened the innings and remained unbeaten on fifty six runs was the rock for his team while others chipped in. Sam Aquilina batted well for fifteen runs. For the Captain’s team Mike Caruana, Joy Ghoseroy and Mark G.Sacco all took a wicket each. The Chairman’s team now have a three one lead in the five game series.

In the morning the fourth game between the Marsa colts and the Krishna Colts was played. The Krishna team batted first and totalled sixty nine runs. Reeya Ghoseroy was the top scorer with twelve runs. Daniel Galea, Eric Krishna and Talitha Van Colen all scored nine runs being the top scorers.  For the Marsa bowlers, Catherine Heasman, Amy Caruana, Zack Cauchi  and Aidan Bugeja all took a wicket each.

In reply the Marsa team struggled and just managed to make the runs ending winning by a couple of runs. Good batting stints came from Amy Caruana twenty runs, Freddie May sixteen runs, Catherine Heasman fifteen runs and Adam Caruana thirteen runs. For Krishna Edward Heasman and Eric Krishna took a wicket each. The Marsa team have won all four games and are looking for a whitewash in next Saturday’s game.

The Chairman’s team will play the Captain’s team in the final game of there series as well on Saturday.
