Swimming world record for Keith Bartolo

On Monday 30th May at 11pm BKara St Joseph's Keith Bartolo wrote his name amongst the world’s best open water swimmers. Together with a team of 5 UK swimmers Keith broke the world record for the longest lake swim in the world.

The team consisted of Dee Llewellyn, Thomas Noblett, Leanne Llewellyn, Michelle Sharples and Michelle Lefton and Keith Bartolo.

In temperatures ranging from 9 degrees to 12 degrees and winds at times blowing at 35 knots per hour, the team swam 202km in 75hrs32min to break the previous world record, held by a team of American/ Mexican hall of fame swimmers.

What made this world record even special is the effort and dedication all the support crew showed, without whose help such an epic in order to make this epic and unique swim a success and for it to be spoken about for a long time to come.
