Diane Borg and William Chetcuti take top honours at SportMalta awards
Athlete Danica Bonello Spiteri won the SportMalta Award during the ceremony of the SportMalta Awards - L-Ghazliet Sportivi Nazzjonali held yesterday at the MFCC, in Ta’ Qali.
Diane Borg was awarded as Sportswoman of the Year while William Chetcuti was awarded as Sportsman of the Year and Nathan Lee Xuereb as Youth of the Year.
The Malta Football Association was acknowledged as the sports organisation which attracted the most sports tourism. Qormi Local Council was acknowledged for its work to increase the sports culture in the community.
Kullegg Santa Margerita was acknowledges as the educational college which promoted the most physical activities and sports.
Nathan Farrugia, Keith Bartolo, Marcon Bezzina, John Walsh and Fr Hilary Tagliaferro were acknowledged by the Malta Sports Council.
The Council also acknowledged Lifecycle and Special Olympics. Manwel Gauci, ex-sports editor of In-Nazzjon, was acknowledged by Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sports.
