Thai Boxing seminar a success

Master Noel Mercieca and Isaac Chetcuti, founders of Gladiators Promotion, brought back to Malta the Thai Boxing to promote and enhance connection and friendship trough Martial Arts with foreign countries and athletes. 40 athletes from 3 Maltese clubs took part in this seminar.

Osman was accompanied with Lello Perego and Allan Polek Gozdzick who are professional athletes and have a number of World Titles. The seminar in Malta also served as preparation training for both athletes as they will soon have a match in Brussels. Both Perego and Gozdzick trained with Daniel "the Jet" Zarha, the only professional Kickboxing in Malta, so he can prepare himself for his next match.

The lessons where spread over three evening where Yigin and his athletes showed different Thai Boxing techniques and their application in competitions. Apart for that he even gave separate training to Ying Yang Kickboxing athletes during the Morning. Such training was more focused to improve physical strength and the stamina to prepare yourself for competitions. This was done during special sessions on sandy beaches to be more intensive.

Thai Boxing is a discipline that originated from Thailand many years ago and is the national sport in the country. Although is similar to Kickboxing there are great differences between them. The greatest differences are that during the competition the Thai athlete can use knee and elbow techniques as well as clinching where he can grab the other athlete and throw him on the ground.

Currently Master Mercieca, founder of Ying Yang Kickboxing, is preparing his athletes for a number of Kickboxing activities. Amongst them are competitions on international level in Italy and in Malta. Now in his club in Fgura, together with MMA training session, there will be even Boxing training. Due to the club's affiliation with the WKN, local Boxers could compete in the renowned Boxing Tournament, Bigger's Better, that is even showed on Eurosport.
