European appointments for trio of international volleyball referees
The three Maltese international volleyball referees will be quite busy later on this month and next month due to international commitments appointed by the European Volleyball Confederation (C.E.V.).
Mr. Frankie Tanti will be in Kastel Sucurac, Croatia, for the home leg of the tie between Mladost Marina Kastela and Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus, to be played on Wednesday 24th October. Mr. Tanti will officiate as second referee with Mr. Darko Savic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This match is from the CEV Cup competition for men.
Mr. Nello Calleja has been appointed to officiate in two different matches, one from the Women’s CEV Cup, whilst the other is from the Women’s CEV Challenge Cup. Mr. Calleja’s first match will be as second referee in the away match between Rebecchin.Meccanica Piacenza of Italy and Kontynium Volyn Lutsk of Ukraine from the CEV Cup. Mr. Calleja will be accompanying Mr. Antonio Correa Benitez from Spain.
Mr. Calleja will then officiate as first referee in the home match to be played in Limassol, Cyprus, between home team TRB_Danoi AEL Limassol and Slavia EU Bratislava from Slovakia. This match is from the CEV Challenge Cup for Women. Mr. Calleja will be accompanied by Ms. Rudina Omari from Albania.
Later on in November, Mr. Marvic Micallef will officiate as first referee in the away match between Spodnja Savinska Sempeter and Aurubis Hamburg, to be played in Sempeter, Slovenia. Mr. Micallef will have Mr. Jan Krticka of the Czech Republic as his second referee. This match is from the Women’s CEV Challenge Cup.
