Subbuteo: Samuel Bartolo, Massimo Cremona and Andrew Abela win first Tournaments

Malta Table Football Sports Association organised its 1st Championship Tournaments in 3 categories for this season which were held at the Ghaqda Musicali Band Club at Msida last weekend.

The Open category was won by Samuel Bartolo a player of Valletta Subbuteo Club who beat Derek Conti in the final 3-2 after extra time. Bartolo had an easy task in getting into the final by beating Bormla Subbuteo Club player Josef Camilleri 6-1. On the other hand Derek Conti also player of Valletta Subbuteo Club qualified on shots after beating Hansel Mallia 2-1 after the game finished 2-2.

In the Veterans category saw once again Massimo Cremona beating Charles Aquilina 4-1 in the final. Massimo Cremona had the better off Adrian Bonnici in the semi-finals beating him 4-3 with a goal in the dying minutes whilst Charles Aquilina won against Mario Camilleri 2-1 after extra time.

In the Under 19 Andrew Abela a Valletta Subbuteo Club player won the group collecting maximum points against Bormla Subbuteo Club players Melvin Barun and Neil Mark Bonnici.

The second tournament will now be played on Sunday 24^th March 2013 with the last day being played on the 12^th May.
