A group of students from Ġiovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School in Naxxar have ranked fourth in the European Sports Tournament which took place in Montecatini, Italy.

Accompanied by two of their teachers, the students are participating in the E.S.C.O.T. European Schools Gala 2013.

The purpose of the festival is for students to experience altogether art, culture, sports, friendship and thermal wellness. In a European atmosphere, all participants benefit from personal, educational and cultural enrichment.

Yesterday the Maltese male and female teams ranked fourth in the music volley tournament and fourth in the male 5-aside football tournament.

The Maltese delegation stands out for its fair, collaborative, multicultural approach, as well as for retaining the Maltese friendly and festive attitudes.

The accompanying teachers are today delivering a presentation on 'Twinning for community learning: Nurturing didactics in municipalities'. The delegation will then compete with other European Schools for best video with a three-minuter produced by the school on the link between young people and thermal wellness.
