Arora on a high
On Saturday the scheduled game against Mezica C.C had to be cancelled.
Only four players were able to make the trip and a friendly game between Krishna C.C and Melita C.C took place.The Slovenia players were included in each of the teams.
The Krishna team batted first and could only muster up 95 runs from the twenty overs, nowhere near what they make in the IPL or the Champions league. Bikram Arora showed some of his best form smashing thirty six runs including four sixes. . Dhruv Duggal was the only other batsmen to make it to double figures, he made seventeen runs. Kevin Krishna was the pick of the Melita bowlers taking three wickets. Blaz Praper and Joy Ghoseroy took two wickets each while Tony Slater and Dave Borg took a wicket each.
In an amazing game the Melita team could only make 76 runs and were bowled out. John Grima top scored with twenty runs while Blaz Praper scored nineteen runs. Four bowlers , Adam Krishna , Justin Brooke, Sarfraz Ali and Bikram Arora all took two wickets each. The highlight of the game was the catching by Dhruv Duggal , Tony Slater (two each) and Dave Borg.
Next weekend the Marsa C.C take on Abbots Langly C.C and The Forty Club, both teams from the United Kingdom.
The Malta Cricket Association has for the second time this year started conducting lessons for INSPIRE at the Razzett tal Hbieberija. There are ten sessions in all and are on Mondays from 5:15 till 6:15pm.
The academy/nursery have again been boosted by the sponsorship with SUNOCO. The academy will now be known as the Sunoco Cricket Academy/Nursery. Next Saturday the academy will be from 9:00 till 10:30am.
On Sunday 6th November the Association will be organising an open day for cricket at the Marsa Sports Club from 10:00am till 2:00pm. This event will be to raise funds for “Gurnata Sports mil Qalb”
