[WATCH] Surfers, canoeists ride the waves in Ghajn Tuffieha

Water sport enthusiasts take to the waves at Golden Bay

Members of the Malta Canoe Polo Club this morning joined other watersport enthusiats as they took to the waves at Golden Bay.

Being a mid-week public holiday, this morning saw a number of families making the most of the clement February weather. Golden Bay was a hive of activity and members from the Malta Canoe Polo Club and Waveski Malta hit the waves surfing the white horses in the bay.

The Force 5 WNW wind created regular surfable waves, while the sun kept the the wetsuit clad athletes warm. As early as 8:30am, the bay was spotted with surfer, kite surfers and waveskiers who provided a colourful and thrilling show for those who chose to lay on the sand or simply enjoy a beer on the beach.
