BOV Water-polo Championship fixtures drawn
The 2013 edition of the BOV National Water-polo Championship will see 11 teams competing for the summer’s premier local sporting event which will run from 7th June till the end of August.
The top five teams will qualify for the Premier League while five teams will play in the First Division. The summer league will be played on a three-round system with no play-offs.
The fixtures and knockout competition for this year's edition were drawn by Anthony Scicluna, Chief Officer Group Internal Audit, Bank of Valletta, and Joe Caruana Curran, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta, during a press conference held at Bank of Valletta's Head Office in Sta Venera in the presence of Marco Manara, ASA General Secretary.
"This is the sixth Water-polo league under the BOV sponsorship and, following the excellent results recently achieved by the national team in Denmark, we are confident that with the Bank's support, the level of the game both on a national and on an international level will reach new heights with greater competitiveness among the participating teams," said Mr Scicluna.
Mr Caruana Curran said: "Once again the ASA expresses its gratitude to BOV for its support. We are sure that the relationship between the Bank and the Association will not only continue in the years to come, but will also be strengthened."
