BOV Water Polo Players of the Month

An instinctive attacker, Gabarretta distinguished himself with the national team during the European Water Polo Championships Qualification Tournament held in Malta in July. Two hat-tricks against Georgia and Belarus set him as a front-runner for the award, consolidated by solid performances in the BOV League which included a double hat-trick (6 goals) against Sirens.

Strings of fine saves gave Valletta goalkeeper Ryan Sciortino the edge on the competition in the First Division Award. Sciortino suffered only 29 goals in 4 matches during July, giving his team the best goal average, apart from leading the division.

Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta and Joe Caruana Curran, Secretary General of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta presented the awards to the winners.
