Malta defeat Poland in first round of European 2012 Waterpolo Championships
Malta left it late to defeat Poland in the First round of the European 2012 Waterpolo Championships.

In the first session Poland took the lead when Rozycki converted a penalty. Malta got back in the match when Brownrigg gave them the equaliser.
In the second session Jordan Camilleri and Lanzon gave Malta a 3-1 lead but it was not long before Krawczyk put Poland back in the game to make it 3-2.
The third session was very even and both team earned another point. The third session ended 4-3 to setup an exciting final session.
In the fourth and final session, Malta came to life and put three goals past Poland. The scorers were Soler, Lanzon and Meli.
With this win Malta gains its first points in the first round of the competition.
