New opening hours for book festival announced
Valletta Summit security arrangements see National Book Council announce new opening hours for Malta Book Festival to be held between 4 and 8 November
The National Book Council today announced changes to the opening hours for the forthcoming Malta Book Festival due to “national requirements” related to the international conference on immigration which is scheduled to take place four days later.
The festival was scheduled to take place between 4 and 8 November but security arrangements for the Valletta Sumit which will take place on 11 and 12 November forced the organisers to change the original programme.
The Malta Book Festival will not remain open all day on Sunday 8 November as previously announced but will close at noon.
The Festival will instead remain open all day on Saturday 7 November.
In order to encourage attendance on Saturday, the council is issuing up to 4,000 vouchers of €5 each to all children and adolescents between the ages of five and eighteen attending the festival.
These vouchers may be collected from the NBC stand on presentation of ID card, passport or birth certificate of the child/adolescent.
The changes in opening hours are as follows: Saturday 7 November: 09:30 – 22:30, Sunday 8 November: 08:30 – 12:00 (noon)
