How do you feel about a Hollywood action thriller depicting the assassination of Osama Bin Laden?
Following her Oscar-dominating Iraq War bomb disposal drama Hurt Locker (2008), director Kathryn Bigelow plunges back into recent war history with an action thriller about the last days of Osama Bin Laden.
Boasting an ensemble cast which includes Mark Strong, Jessica Chastain, Kyle Chandler, Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Ehle, the film will focus on the special operation forces mission which led to the capture and assassination of Osama Bin Laden in May 2011.
Though it was originally scheduled for an October release, the film will be pushed back to December 19 in response to concerns that it might influence the American general elections.
A more detailed plot synopsis is yet to emerge, so it's difficult to tell which political angle the story will be tackled from at this point.
However, the possibility remains that as with Hurt Locker, Bigelow will simply zone in on the action and suspense elements of the story, with the wider implications of the assassination taking a back seat.
