Airport Impressions win international award

The song ‘Berlin’, released this year by Maltese band Airport Impressions, was awarded ‘first place’ in the 2014 Unsigned Only Music Competition.

This international competition, based in the United States, gives a platform for unsigned artists, with the aim of exposing them to major record labels.

‘Berlin’ was awarded ‘first place’ in the ‘Adult Album Alternative’ category out of nearly 8000 entries received from over 100 countries. This made Airport Impressions the only non-UK European winners in this competition.

The judges who selected the winners for this competition were high-profile recording artists including Robert Smith from The Cure, Rosanne Cash, 3 Doors Down and Of Monsters and Men.

The Adult Alternative Category features songs in a genre which is broader than the limited playlists of hit radios and, as noted by competition organizers, the category includes artists in the style of John Mayer, Coldplay, Jason Mraz, Ben Harper and others.

Berlin is the second single released from the Band’s recent album ‘Mariette.
