Malta Business Bureau announces new president
Grant Thornton advisory head George Vella is new president of Malta Business Bureau.
The Malta Business Bureau (MBB) has announced George Vella as its new president.
Vella is heads the business advisory arm at Grant Thornton. He has over 17 years experience in corporate and project finance, research and development, strategic and project management.
Throughout his career Vella has worked for established firms such as PwC in Malta and the UK, the Corinthia Group (Malta and Budapest, Hungary), and APS Bank.
In his current post at Grant Thornton, Vella leads a team of consultants that provide financial control, internal audit, evaluation services, assistance in the preparation of business plans, feasibility studies and cost benefit analyses, business valuations, assistance with mergers and acquisitions, project finance and corporate finance advisory services for a range of private sector and public sector organisations.
"I am pleased to have been given this opportunity to contribute towards the local business community. In the last few years the MBB has grown considerably and this promises well for the future. My aim is to sustain this growth and help the Bureau become more relevant to business," Vella said.
George Vella joined the rest of the MBB team in thanking John A. Huber who was at the helm of the organisation for the past two years, for his dedication and commitment to see the Bureau develop and increase its services to the Maltese private sector. Huber will still be involved as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Malta Business Bureau.
