GO plc’s chief commercial appointed chief executive

Yiannos Michaelides, currently CCO, to be appointed CEO as from 7 September 2012

GO plc is pleased to announce that Yiannos Michaelides, currently Chief Commercial Officer, will be assuming the role of company CEO as of September 7, 2012.

David Kay, who has been chief executive of GO since 2006, has resigned for personal reasons. He will be working closely with the chief executive designate to ensure a smooth and orderly transition over the coming weeks.

With immediate effect, GO's board of directors has appointed Michaelides as deputy CEO until he takes over the role of the CEO.

Together with GO's management team, David has been instrumental in driving Company's performance and led GO to record significant achievements.

Prior to joining GO, Michaelides was senior executive at Emirates International Telecommunications Limited (EITL), GO's main shareholder, with responsibilities which included portfolio management and value creation at EITL portfolio companies.

Before joining EITL he was Vice President of Strategic Marketing at du, the new integrated telecoms operator in the UAE. Prior to du he held a variety of senior marketing and managerial positions with leading telecommunication businesses in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
