Air Malta announced that it has resumed normal scheduled operations to Catania's Fontanarossa airport after infrastructural works on the city's airport runway were finalised.

Due to the closure of this airport and the limited capacity at Sigonella airport, which was used as an alternative airport, Air Malta was forced to transfer its operations to Sigonella and cancel some services on certain dates.

Air Malta flies to Catania on a daily basis whilst offering its passengers the possibility of a day trip to the city on Mondays and Saturdays with fares starting at €68 return including all taxes and charges.

Air Malta reminded customers that check-in times have now also been reversed to the standard timings. Check-in in Malta and Catania will open two hours before departure and will close thirty minutes prior the scheduled time of departure.
