Duncan Howard to take over as GO Chief Commercial Officer
Telecoms company GO plc has announced the appointment of Duncan Howard as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer with effect from 1 August 2010.
A company statement explained how Howard would succeed outgoing COO Norbert Prihoda, who had been seconded to GO as Chief Operations Officer from its major shareholder Emirates International Telecommunications LLC (EITL) in 2007.
Prihoda would return to EITL’s head office in Dubai assuming a senior group role there. He would be responsible for setting up and managing a new central portfolio management function for all of EITL telecommunications investments across different countries.
The new GO CCO had more than 16 years of mobile telecoms experience gained while working for 11 networks in Europe, North America, India and in the Middle East.
Most recently, he has held the position of Chief Business Officer (Business Sales and Marketing Director) for Vodafone Egypt. Previously, he held the positions of Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Customer Service and Retail for the same company.
Prior to this he also held key managerial positions in Revenue Assurance, Fraud, Risk and Collections as well as Programme Management. Howard holds a degree in Systems Analysis as well as an MBA.
GO’s Board of Directors, management and employees took the opportunity to thank Prihoda for his “loyal service” and wished him success in his new responsibilities. At the same time they welcomed Howard on board and wished him every success in his new post.
