Vodafone Malta Foundation backs the Actavis Lifecycle Challenge

The Vodafone Malta Foundation once again confirmed its support to the Actavis Lifecycle Challenge as a Platinum Sponsor.

The challenge has seen the participating cyclists cycle through the former Soviet Baltic States all the way to St. Petersburg.

Founded in 1999, the Lifecycle Challenge was created thanks to the efforts of a group of dedicated volunteers who endured different challenges to generate funds for medical equipment at the Renal unit.

This year's 15th edition of the challenge kicked off in Minsk in Belarus and covered a gruelling 2,000km through the Baltic States, all the way to St. Petersburg.

"We are thrilled that we supported this worthy cause once again," said Roberta Pace, Administrator at Vodafone Malta Foundation.

"The cyclists go through very tough conditions and keep going with such determination and strength. This is one of the reasons why we are so proud to be associated with the Lifecycle Organisation. It's great to see people come together to contribute generously towards the needs of these patients. We would like to congratulate the whole team on making Malta proud again this year."

The Lifecycle Challenge strives for an improved quality of life of patients suffering from renal failure by allowing them access to the highest standard of medical care. Cyclists with different levels of ability and other members of the support team, including medical doctors sign on the challenge and help out with common ailments participants experience during their journey.

To date, the Lifecycle Challenge has visited a number of countries, with this year's challenge bringing the total number of countries to 38.

This year, Lifecycle aims to match the amount raised last year and exceed it for the renal patients and transplant support group at Mater Dei Hospital.
