Vocational training credit systems seminar for industry and employers and other stakeholders
The European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) and the ECVET Experts Group (Malta), in collaboration with the National Commission for Higher and Further Education (NCHFE), is holding a seminar on Wednesday 18th 2013 between 09.00 and 15.00 at The Victoria Hotel, Gorg Borg Olivier Street Sliema.
The main focus of this full day seminar will be to further promote the outcomes of the National ECVET Pilot Project - (VET) Credit Conversion System and as a means of consultation with the Industry, Employers' Associations and Trade Unions.
Four Maltese experts will address this issue and feedback shall be drawn from the sectors' industry representatives and employers' association representatives. Working group sessions will give way to further discussion with regards to implementing ECVET in Malta in order to bridge the gap between the academic sphere and the industry. Together these stakeholders shall learn and help each other identify how to apply ECVET in order to satisfy the current and future labour market needs in line with European-wide initiatives.
The seminar will also delve into the technical approaches needed, such as explaining the very basics of ECVET, how it will be beneficial for the students and its applicability with respect to employers. This seminar will serve as an opportunity for the industry, Trade Unions, the national team of experts and the National Authority responsible for implementing ECVET to learn together how to develop applicable ECVET methodologies and how to apply these in order to meet future training needs and exercise quality assurance.
The target audience for the seminar shall be the Industry and Employers Associations as well as the Chamber of commerce, Malta Enterprise and other stakeholders. Those interested are invited to register for the seminar by sending an email [email protected] . This preliminary registration will be followed by an official invitation by email from the organisers. Bookings shall be free of charge and on a first come first served basis. The booking deadline is Monday 16th March 2013.
This activity is being funded with support from the European Commission, specifically from the National Teams of ECVET Experts (2012 - 2013). More information about the ECVET can be found http://llp.eupa.org.mt.
