The Vodafone Malta Foundation supports Youths at their annual summer camp
The Vodafone Malta Foundation supported Youth Engage in Senglea (YES) which is a task group within the Salesian Pastoral Youth Service, during a Summer Camp organised for youths in Senglea.
The Salesian group of volunteers YES are a team of experienced youth leaders whose main aim is to develop and implement programs for the holistic formation of young people.
For the 4th consecutive year, the camp was organised at the St Philip Salesian Oratory and was well attended. The main aim of the camp was to organise a good number of educational activities for youths in Senglea as well as providing leaders with an opportunity to experience life in the community.
Apart from the Maltese volunteers, two Czech leaders came to Malta specifically for this project. The camp included a number of educational and fun activities such as craft activities and water games. The youths also visited the elderly at a day-care centre in Żejtun, took part in a treasure hunt which ended with a swim in Mġiebaħ and had a safari hunt in Buskett at night!
Other activities included a visit to the Limestone Heritage, talks by speakers about anti-hate speech and equality and scientific experiments.
"It was of great satisfaction for the leaders to see that the camp was a great success after the countless hours of activity preparation," said Roberta Pace, Administrator at Vodafone Malta Foundation. "The memorable experiences and the smiles brought to all the children's faces surely made all this effort more than worth it."
