Vodafone employee joins “Heroes” in London
Chantelle Mercieca, Senior Engineer, Regional Services & Strategy at Vodafone Malta was selected as Vodafone Malta’s “Annual Hero” for 2013 and together with other Vodafone Global Heroes from across all Vodafone’s operating companies attended the Global Heroes initiative in London.
The Vodafone Global Hero is an award dedicated to high performers and role models who behave in The Vodafone Way. Heroes from across countries where Vodafone operates are selected on an annual basis and are recognized for their outstanding contribution and for the results they bring to the company's success. The Vodafone Group Executive Committee identify and recognise "Global Heroes" who are invited to an all-expenses paid International VIP weekend trip to London, where they have the opportunity to meet Vodafone Group CEO, Vittorio Colao, and celebrate with other Global Heroes from around the world.
"Being awarded the Vodafone Global Hero is a great honour and I think that it is a privilege to be the one chosen from Vodafone Malta for this award," said Chantelle Mercieca. "The VIP weekend in London was truly a memorable experience that will certainly last a lifetime. I would like to dedicate this award to all my colleagues for giving me all the support and for believing in me and also to all my family for all their patience and support throughout these years."
The Heroes' stories are diverse and range from innovative network solutions to simplifying internal processes to improving customer experience. Chantelle Mercieca is Vodafone's prepaid point of reference when it comes to technology. This year, Vodafone embarked on a project to completely change their prepaid system with Chantelle managing to switch easily between explaining the most of complex problems to her technology collegues to simplifying things and filtering the important parts so that management can make the right escalations. She is a living example of collaboration, working together with the Customer Care Department, the Marketing Department and the Technology department.
The Heroes from different operating companies had a jam packed itinerary on the agenda, including a visit to Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and the London Eye, a visit to the Mc Laren Technology Centre - home of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team and a Dinner Cruise on the river Thames.
