BOV launches limited edition UEFA Champions League MasterCard prepaid cards

The new cards feature three exclusive designs and can be purchased individually or as a limited edition collector’s item set.

Bank of Valletta is also launching an attractive promotion with the new UEFA Champions League Prepaid Cards. For a limited period between the 21 March and the 2 June 2011, anyone who purchases one of these new cards will be eligible to participate in a lottery to win 1 of 50 original UEFA matchballs. These UEFA matchballs are identical to those being used throughout this year’s UEFA Champions League competition.

“We are delighted to launch the first themed prepaid cards featuring the attractive UEFA Champions League logo,” said Ivo Camilleri, Executive Head responsible for Electronic Banking Services at Bank of Valletta.

“Bank of Valletta is the only bank in Malta to offer prepaid cards – a new card product that we launched in the market last year and that was well received by our customers,” added Mr. Camilleri.

“We believe that the new UEFA Champions League Prepaid Cards, with a value of €150, will continue to increase the popularity of prepaid cards in Malta, especially in view of the added value promotion that we are linking to this innovative product,” concluded Mr. Camilleri.

Prepaid Cards are payment cards that are pre-loaded with a fixed sum of money. When a prepaid card is used, the money is deducted from the amount originally loaded onto the card. In this case, the €150 pre-loaded onto the card is all available to the customer purchasing the card, effectively rendering the card free of charge.

BOV MasterCard Prepaid Cards provide versatility, convenience and ease of use while shopping over the Internet, settling bills online and paying for goods and services worldwide. It can also be used as a travel card. The BOV MasterCard Prepaid Cards also offer the cardholder control, ease of use, confidentiality and security.

Cardholders can check their card balance by inserting the BOV MasterCard Prepaid Card into any BOV ATM and the card balance will be displayed on screen. The cardholder can also call BOV’s Customer Services Centre on 21 234 821 and quote the card number to check the card balance.
