WSC procures 33,000 smart water meters
120,000 smart water meters already deployed
US technology giant Itron has expanded its contract with the Water Services Corporation to supply additional smart water meters for the southern European island’s smart water grid programme.
The WSC has already deployed 120,000 Itron smart water meters and has just ordered a further 33,000, Itron confirmed this week.
The meter programme aims to increase operational efficiency and improve customer service, and allow customers to track and manage consumption.
Stephen Galea St John, chief officer at Water Services Corporation, said: “We have been pleased with the performance of Itron’s smart water meters, as well as the company’s support. With this technology, we can ensure precious water resources are managed efficiently and that we are delivering a high quality of service to our customers.”
