Bank of Valletta gets the Equality Mark
Bank of Valletta has been recertified with the Equality Mark by the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE)
Bank of Valletta has been recertified with the Equality Mark by the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE), confirming BOVs social corporate responsibilities and high governance standards within its professional Human Resources Strategy.
“We are justifiably proud of this recertification. This is a formal recognition of our commitment to provide equal access to career opportunities and development irrespective of gender, status or caring responsibilities” said Anthony Scicluna, Chief Officer Human Resources, Bank of Valletta.
In 2011, Bank of Valletta was awarded the Equality Mark Certification by the (NCPE), with the support of the European Social Fund (ESF). The equality mark identifies and awards organisations, certifying them as true equal opportunity employers. This certification recognises Bank of Valletta’s efforts to make sure that all rights, policies, responsibilities and family-friendly measures are offered to all staff members. This implies that equal access to opportunities and career development is based on the individuals’ capabilities, irrespective of their gender and caring responsibilities.
Achieving this recertification bears public witness to the Bank’s commitment that perpetually remains an important and crucial value to its success. Bank of Valletta employs 1600 staff members of which almost 60% are women. Despite the large numbers and different lifestyles, every effort is directed at making all staff members feel valued and appreciated for their contribution.
NCPE has awarded Bank of Valletta this certification based on evidence of the company’s true commitment to implement relevant policies and practices that concern gender equality and family friendly measures at the place of work.
