Atlas staff given leave for volunteering days
To commemorate its 10th anniversary as a company, the Atlas Group has given its staff two extra days of paid leave to volunteer with the charity of their choice.
This was announced during the second edition of Atlas Day, a full day of staff training and development. The training seminar was followed by the Atlas Group’s annual summer barbecue, where staff was given the opportunity to enjoy the summer afternoon and evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
“Part of the Atlas Vision has always been a purpose beyond profit. By giving our staff the option for Volunteering Days, we feel that we are helping to fulfil this aim – giving back to the community and helping those who need our support,” said Michael Gatt, Atlas Group CEO.
Although Atlas has been a company for ten years, its history goes back much further. It is believed that the companies preceding what is now Atlas Group were operating around the turn of the last century. However, the first documented evidence goes back to early in the nineteenth century, when three of the original parent companies, were respectively given agency appointments for leading British insurers in Malta.
Following a series of mergers along the years, Atlas Group was formed, with Atlas Insurance PCC Ltd as the principal company, alongside Atlas Healthcare Agency Ltd, Ark Insurance Brokers, Ark Insurance Management PCC Ltd and Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors Ltd.
