Burmarrad Commercials celebrates 30 years in operation

Malta's President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca was the guest of honour during the celebration of Burmarrad Commercials's 30 years in operation.

The event was hosted by the company’s CEO Mario Gauci and his family during which he spoke about the company's history. Gauci continues to run his business today, along with his three adult children, Maria Gauci, Sharon Camilleri and Mario Gauci Jr., who are now also company directors.  

Burmarrad Commercials is Malta’s largest supplier of new and used vehicles, warehouse equipment and industrial machinery. It is also  the official distributor and service partner of renowned brands such as Carrier Transicold, Schmitz CargoBull and Dhollandia, together with a successful rental and leasing arm with fully fledged in-house aftersales services.

Born out of a passion for the automotive world, Burmarrad Commercials is a family-run business operated by two generations of the Gauci family, still based in the family’s hometown of Burmarrad.

The 30th anniversary celebrations featured a special video presentation highlighting the company’s humble beginnings when Gauci worked in his father’s farming business, through later trials as a continental truck driver, to the founding of the company and three decades of commitment, challenge and expansion. The video also focused on the visionary decisions made early in the company’s history that, today, have turned it into a hugely successful family corporation with deep roots in one of Malta’s oldest communities.

Burmarrad Commercials donated three vehicles, with a total value of €30,000, to The Malta Community Chest Fund. The donation includes a 15-seater mini bus with a ramp for wheelchair access, as well as two other vehicles designed for those with special needs. Coleiro Preca accepted the donations on behalf of the charity.

“It is an incredible feeling to look back on all that has been achieved by the company over the last 30 years and to see the fruit of our hard work. Of course, a huge amount of thanks goes to my family, as well as to our extended team. It has been a wonderful journey so far and I look forward to what the future has to bring for Burmarrad Commercials in the years to come," Gauci said.
