Apple announces extended waiting time on Apple Watch preorders

In a sign of strong early demand, Apple Inc’s CEO Tim Cook has informed customers who plan to preorder the Apple smartwatch that they will now have to wait at least a month for delivery.

The company predicts demand will exceed supply when the Apple Watch, which represents the company's first venture into the wearable personal luxury goods market, is launched.

The watch officially goes on sale on April 24th but soon after Apple opened online preorders yesterday, Apple's website quoted delivery dates in June for some models and four to six weeks for others.

Some of those who had preordered the watch, then sold their confirmed orders on eBay.

Technology reviewers have praised the watch’s stylish aesthetics but gave it poor marks for relatively low battery life and slow-loading times for apps.
