[WATCH] Dead thresher shark found in Cirkewwa

The thresher shark was pulled out dead from the sea

Passers-by and divers were stunned at the rare sight of 3-metre thresher shark, spotted on the rocks in Cirkewwa.

The shark, also known as the ‘fox shark’, was pulled out of the waters in a joint operation between the Civil Protection Department and the Armed Forces of Malta, assisted by the Fisheries Department.

A spokesperson for the police confirmed that the operation took place at around 5pm.

The shark was dead.
