Updated | Accused over Paceville murder granted bail
Two men charged with the murder of Mario Galea in Paceville last August, have been granted bail by the Magistrate’s Court.
Joe Zahra, 28 of St. Julian's and 28 year-old Gozitan Brian Cini, were this morning granted bail by Magistrate Neville Camilleri under a number of conditions.
Zahra and Cini are pleading not guilty to the murder of Mario Galea, following an argument in Paceville, which ended in the victim falling into the street and subsequently run-over by a taxi, driven by Robert Aquilina.
They were granted bail against a deposit of €5,000 and a personal guarantee of €15,000 each, and were also ordered to sign daily at the St. Julian's Police Station.
Lawyers Michael and Lucio Sciriha appeared for Joe Zahra, while lawyers Giannella de Marco and Gianluca Caruana Curran appeared for Brian Cini.
