Birzebbugia mystic delivers Virgin Mary’s message on divorce and media

The holy mystic Angelik Caruana has claimed a message from the Holy Virgin at the Borg in-Nadur shrine, in Birzebbugia, warns followers of her earlier prediction that divorce would be “on the lips of everyone”.

“The situation in your country is ugly,” the message starts, delivered on 1 September to Caruana’s congregation. “I spoke to you about it four years ago, for you to prepare yourselves for it. Now you are in it.”

“Divorce is on the lips of everyone: divorce here and divorce there. They also publish articles against the Church and against priests,” the statement claims, in what reads like a veiled reference to the media coverage on the divorce debate.

Caruana claims to deliver messages from the Holy Virgin in what have been uninterrupted visitations since 2006, when he claimed a statue of the Virgin in his house was weeping tears of blood.

Sister newspaper Illum had later revealed an internal Curia document proving the blood found on the statue of the Holy Virgin had in fact been human blood, allegedly that belonging to Angelik Caruana.

In a previous message delivered to Caruana on 4 August, the Virgin Mary was said to have promised a spring that would provide water that will heal the sick.

However, all hopes of a Lourdes-like centre of worship seems to have been dashed with a proviso that the holy water cannot be sold. According to the message, the Virgin Mary said: “This water cannot be sold, never! Otherwise it will cease to flow. Everyone can take this water. It shall be free… this is my promise.”
