Brussels airport to partially reopen tomorrow
Passenger flights have not landed at Zaventem airport since Islamic militants targeted the airport two weeks ago
Brussels airport will partially reopen for passenger flights on Sunday, nearly two weeks after it was hit by terrorist attacks, the airport chief executive said Saturday.
The airport has remained closed to regularly-scheduled passenger flights since two suicide bombs struck the departure hall on March 22, killing at least 16 people and injuring scores more. An equal number died in a bomb attack on a metro station in the Belgian capital.
Reuters report that, in a joint news conference with Belgium’s federal police, Brussels Airport Chief Executive Arnaud Feist said the airport would recommence operations with a few flights, gradually opening to more.
Feist said the airport will only be accessible by car or taxi during the first few days of reopening.
