Air Malta closely monitoring volcanic cloud, schedule so far not affected
Air Malta is closely monitoring the developmens as a volcanic ash cloud emitting from Grimsvötn volcano in Iceland is currently extending from Iceland, to northern parts of Britain and some parts of Scandinavia.
A statement issued by Air Malta explained that the airline is in touch with Aviation Authorities whilst also monitoring data supplied by the UK MET Office and bulletins issued by the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).
The airline will advise its passengers of any changes in its flight operations as a result of airspace disruptions.
The ash cloud is causing some schedule disruptions for those flights operating in these areas. However, until now, the Air Malta flight schedule is not affected.
The national airline will be regularly issuing media statements whilst also updating its portal and Facebook page with the latest updates.
