Kristu Iva Divorzju Le to speak to media on Wednesday

Anti-divorce religious group Kristu Iva Divorzju Le will announce their reaction to the historic divorce referendum result and answer questions tomorrow.

Contacted by MaltaToday, group spokesperson Clyde Attard said the group would make its position clear and field questions by the media on Wednesday.

He added that the press call will be announced "when permission for the event is confirmed from the respective local council."

Asked if he had any comment to make at that stage, Attard said that the group would answer all questions on Wednesday.

Kristu Iva Divorzju Le’s contribution to the campaign has been described as erratic, having fronted billboards featuring a highly romanticised depiction of Christ along with the caption Christ Yes, Divorce No (Kristu Iva Divorzju Le).

The group’s position was largely based on a Christian argument that divorce goes against the teaching of Christ, and that couples experiencing marital issues should “let Christ into their lives and pray.”

The group’s billboards were heavily satirised by Facebook users, as various ‘adaptations’ surfaced and were widely circulated in the run-up to the divorce referendum held on 28 May.
