Guinean caught importing kilo cannabis

The man was reportedly arrested as he attempted to run away from the customs area and attempted to hide his luggage as he arrived in Valletta from Sicily.

As he was arrested, investigators discovered his luggage which contained almost a kilogramme of cannabis.

The Guinean was taken into custody for interrogation at the Police headquarters in Floriana, and is expected to be charged in court.

A Magisterial inquiry is underway.
