Tender call for underground car park

The Government will publish a tender call for the development and operation of an underground car park in Santa Margerita in Bormla on 2 September. The tender process will close on 23 October.

“In the run-up to the 1996 elections, the Nationalist Party had promised Cottonera residents that an underground car park would be built next to Port No. 1,” the Government said. “In the span of a year and a half, this Government has done what the previous administration had failed to do in 20 years.”

The Government said that residents were concerned that the Port No. 1 project was going to take up a lot of parking spaces, especially since the area has been transformed into a recreational one.
