Gozo needs sexual health clinic, gender neutral bathrooms – NGO

A Gozitan gay rights organisation has a demand to further education on the rights of trans people: gender-neutral bathrooms.

LGBTI+ Gozo has called for gender neutral bathrooms as a way of showing people what it means to be transgender. “There are people who fall in neither category and therefore a label shouldn’t define who the person is. A gender neutral bathroom in Gozo would mean a significant step in Trans rights but also to the LGBT rights in Gozo as a whole”.

The group was lamenting that irrespectively of recent gender identity rights being transposed into law, the process of emancipation had to continue with formal and non-formal education and letting people know what their rights are.

The NGO also called for the need of a sexual health clinic in Gozo to serve as a tool for knowledge and precaution.
